Jet.com is always seeking innovative ways to push their shopping experience. Augmented Reality gives customers the chance test drive products in their own homes immediately and realistically.
When Jet.com contacted us, they had begun the process of developing an extension to their app. We worked with them to craft their approach to best leverage ARCore for Android phones
We also created about 50 3D models designed specifically around the compromises inherent in AR. These were low resolution versions of high resolution models, with baked in ambient occlusion and even lighting, so that ARCore’s lighting would be most effective.
...the Jet.com app now gives shoppers the opportunity to preview a selection of electronics, including TVs, laptops, speakers, monitors, coffee machines, and VR headsets, with multiple products viewable at the same time. The app also lets shoppers place virtual drones on their desks and then fly them around their space.
